    Description

    Arrowsmith (United Artists, 1931). Pre-War Australian Daybill (15" X 40.5").
    This rare stone litho daybill has some of the best artwork seen on posters from the film Arrowsmith. Ronald Colman stars as the title character in this John Ford directed adaptation of the Sinclair Lewis novel. Coleman is a talented scientist who gives up a research career to get married (to Helen Hayes) and become a town doctor. Eventually he succumbs to his true calling and heads to Africa to help cure the Black Plague. Restoration has addressed two small chips in the bottom border, and slight corner bends are still visible, but do not detract from the appeal of the poster. The linen has been trimmed to the border. Very Fine on Linen.
