    Description

Anatomy of a Murder (Art Krebs Screen Studio, 1984). Saul Bass Silk-Screen Poster (25.25" X 35.5").
This is the original concept Saul Bass painted for the film, before it was altered. The studio diluted his completely blood red background down to an orange top and enlarged actor credits on the bottom. His original idea would only be used by the Italians, who perhaps understood the passion of blood red and its importance to the central plot of the film.. In frustration, Bass would often go to one of the best print studios in Los Angeles, the Art Krebs Screen Studio, just around the corner from his studio, and privately print his original designs in editions of only 100-400 intended as gifts for friends, the Museum of Modern Art, and exhibitions around the world. This silkscreen was done in 1984 in an edition of 300, per a listing from the seller of the remaining few copies who had been engaged by the Bass estate. There are some mild horizontal creases in the bottom credits and mild edge wear. What a completely unique and grand companion piece this would be, displayed with the American one sheet. Rolled, Fine/Very Fine.
