    Description

    Dracula (Universal, R-1947). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Heritage is pleased to bring to auction this extremely rare and exquisite one sheet poster for the 1947 reissue of this classic Universal horror film. Never offered by Heritage before, it features the iconic image of Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula about to bite the neck of lovely Helen Chandler. Because of the popularity of this title, originally released in 1931, Universal reissued it in 1938 and in 1947. This reissue one sheet from the film's third release is very scarce. Prior to restoration, the poster had some chipping in the folds, including a small bit in Lugosi's face. There were tears in the left side background, the bottom border, and the top left corner, extending into the background. There were several small chips in the the center vertical fold and in the borders. The top border was trimmed just up to the red field. The excellent restoration, including touchup to the folds and borders, has given this rare poster an excellent appearance. Since Heritage had the restoration work done, we are absolutely sure of its authenticity. One sheets for this iconic horror title rarely surface for auction, so here is an excellent opportunity to obtain this rare poster for a classic . Fine on Linen.
