    Dracula (Universal, 1931). British Front of House Photos (8) (8" X 10").
This is an amazing find of eight original issue photos from the British release of this time honored film. Three of the photos prominently feature Bela Lugosi as Dracula, including one with perhaps one of the most important images in sci-fi/horror history, that of Dracula being repelled by the cross being held in front of him by the vampire hunter, Van Helsing (Edward van Sloan). There are three photos of Helen Chandler, including a key point in the film where van Helsing examines her throat and finds Dracula's bite marks. The other two shots are just as rare. One is a dramatic shot of Renfield (Dwight Frye) as he is examined by Van Helsing. The other is a beautifully eerie shot of Dracula's three 'Undead Wives" (one of which is Dorothy Tree, a founder of The Screen Actor's Guild). There are pinholes in the corners, one has a small stain in the top border, one has a small chip in the lower right corner, and several have minor surface scuffs and mild creases. It is important to note that these are not faded as we see most photos from this are. Only the brides photo shows a bit of toning. The black and white is crisp and they are all on double weight paper. Fine+.
