DescriptionDracula's Daughter (Universal, 1936). Swedish One Sheet (27" X 39.5").
With the huge success of Dracula, the movie that made Bela Lugosi an overnight sensation, it's not surprising that Universal wanted a sequel. Eventually, they approached director James Whale, hot off his triumphs on both Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein, but his proposed treatment was considered too outrageous, and he was dropped from the picture, replaced by Lambert Hillyer. The studio decided on a story that would focus on Marya Zeleska (Gloria Holden), the daughter of the Transylvanian Count, and her search to be cured from her strange compulsion to drink human blood. Glowing greens illuminate this chilling poster, the first Swedish paper Heritage has ever offered for the film. Signs of handling include slight edge wear, light creasing, and small tears. There is a chip in the upper edge, a minor chip at the bottom, and a mild tear from the right edge into the background. Rolled, Very Fine-.
Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
