    Description

    Double Indemnity (Paramount, 1944). One Sheet (27" X 41").
A classic film noir from start to finish, Billy Wilder transformed James M. Cain's popular novel into a box office sensation, forever influencing crime thrillers in every aspect essential to the genre. From it's moodily shadowed scenery, sizzling spark between doomed lovers Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck, and its violent portrayal of murky morality, Billy Wilder's twisted tale of murder and love gone wrong practically invented the noir genre. Ranking high on the list of essential posters for any collector, original one sheets for this hardboiled classic are always in demand. This specific example is in great shape, showing only light edge and fold wear, slight fold separations, and a few very minor tears. There are some pinholes in the borders and interior, some of which are torn, and a couple of small tears in Fred MacMurray's credit. Folded, Very Fine.

    Estimate: $3,500 - $7,000.
