    Description

    Ubangi (William M. Pizor, 1931). Very Good/Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27.25" X 41").
    Taken from footage shot on a 1924 medical expedition into the Belgian Congo with the purpose of analyzing the emergence of sleeping sickness and yellow fever, this documentary features mainly wildlife from a hunting safari, as well as scenes of local culture. Although the poster has a 1929 copyright date, Ubangi was not released until 1931. The 1929 copyright refers to a different documentary, Jango!, cut from the same footage. Benefitting from restoration, this poster has received corrections to edge and fold wear, fold separations, large pinholes, and a few chips in the interior. The poster once had paper loss in the borders and along the lower edge, as well as tears into and in the interior. The borders and title have been airbrushed.
