DescriptionMarilyn by Enzo Nistri (20th Century Fox, 1963). Very Fine+ on Illustration Board. Signed Original Italian Concept Gouache Artwork on Illustration Board (12.25" X 17.5").
Offered for the first time at Heritage, this concept illustration by Enzo Nistri features a gorgeous rendering of Marilyn Monroe seen only on Marilyn's Italian posters. Though similar to the layout used in many domestic and international advertisements that show Monroe as she appears in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Nistri's design instead pictures the starlet in her role of Pola Debevoise in How to Marry a Millionaire. Produced for eventual use on the Italian 4 fogli and locandina, this lovely original concept illustration is in wonderful condition with only slight smudges around the borders. Nistri's signature can be seen on the left side, and there is a protective sheet of vellum attached to the verso and wraps around to the front.
Estimate: $3,000 - $6,000.
