DescriptionDead End (Ealing, R-1944). Very Fine+ on Linen. British Door Panel (20" X 59"). Clifford Rowe Artwork.
One day in the life of an East Side New York neighborhood, starring Sylvia Sidney, Joel McCrea, Humphrey Bogart, Wendy Barrie, Claire Trevor and introducing the Dead End Kids. This wonderful graphic by artist Clifford Rowe (1904-1989) presents Bogart as the star of the film though originally second billed. Rowe was a notable British artist whose work is displayed in galleries across Britain today. Very few posters from this war era were produced and fewer survived due to paper shortages and also due to the war effort were printed in only three colors. This is a striking rarity. The poster was never folded and has only the most minor touchup for several pinholes.
Estimate: $600 - $1,200.
