DescriptionDark Victory (Warner Brothers, 1939). Fine- on Linen. French Grande (47" X 63").
Nominated for three Oscars, this dark drama was a great vehicle for Bette Davis, but also featured a fine supporting cast, including George Brent, Humphrey Bogart, Geraldine Fitzgerald, and Ronald Reagan. This striking French Grande has stylized artwork with an amber tone, and a lot of eye-appeal. Professionally restored, this poster once showed fold wear and separation, pinholes, and tears, a few of which extend into the interior. There were small chips in the crossfolds, as well as some areas of paper loss in the borders. A couple of these sections of paper loss extended into the background, Davis' shoulder, and the Warner Brothers' logo. Fine- on Linen.
Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
