DescriptionCyrano de Bergerac (1898). French Theatre Half Grande (30.75" X 46").
Known as French playwright Edmond Rostand's greatest work, this staged production of Cyrano de Bergerac is remembered as one of the most lauded and influential plays from turn of the century France. In fact, it gained such massive popularity that it embarked on a intercontinental tour only months after it opened in Paris, with performance locations ranging from Spain all the way to such far flung destinations as Romania, Turkey, Egypt, and Tunisia. This lovely stone litho poster comes from that very tour, and is in excellent condition that defies its age. No touchup has been applied to the piece, which shows only light fold wear, pinholes, and a tear in the right border. There is a small tax stamp at the top that in no way intrudes upon the poster's interior. Very Fine on Linen.
Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
