    Description

The Sin of Nora Moran (Majestic, 1933). Very Good/Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41"). Alberto Vargas Artwork.
Zita Johann, Hungarian born actress, made her screen debut in D.W. Griffith's last film, The Struggle; however, her most memorable role was as the object of Boris Karloff's desire in The Mummy. She only had eight screen credits to her name, preferring the stage rather than in front of a camera, but her performance in this picture evoked a passion that displayed the depth of her abilities. Artist Alberto Vargas skillfully captures her expressive despair as a woman condemned to die for a crime she did not commit, a portrait as gorgeous as it is psychological. Very few posters from this film have made it into our auctions, making this an exciting opportunity for classic collectors. This stone litho poster has benefitted from professional restoration, no longer showing edge and fold wear, fold separations, enlarged pinholes, and some tears. Also corrected were creases along the borders, as well as chips in the borders and folds, including some paper loss in the left border. The borders have been airbrushed. The poster was trimmed about 4" from the lower border, however this has been skillfully replaced. Due to excellent conservation the one sheet now displays beautifully.
