    Description

The Mayor of Hell (Warner Brothers, 1933). One Sheet (27" X 41").
"His hair was a Van Gogh, Renoir, Titian red with... gold waving through. His eyes were delft blue, with the longest, thickest lashes I have ever seen. He blinked his eyes at me, and since I had never seen a blink like that before, I instantaneously fell in love." (actress and co-star Joan Blondell). James Cagney, as one of the most versatile stars Hollywood has ever had to offer and his portrayal of the "tough-guy," won him fame in films such as The Public Enemy, Lady Killer, and this classic film from his heyday! His mug as seen on this gorgeous one sheet with the peering green eyes, was enough to draw the audience into the theater to see what character the great actor screen personality might embody that night! This is only the second copy of this poster we have ever seen and believe it to be very rare. The poster had some pinholes and tears in the upper border as well as some tearing below the center horizontal fold that extends from the left to right border. There was tear from the lower border up into the credits. The professional restoration has the poster displaying beautifully. Fine- on Linen.
