The Beast of the City (MGM, 1932). Very Fine+. Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Authored by W.R. Burnett, who also wrote Little Caesar, Scarface, King of the Underworld, and High Sierra, this was MGM's attempt at the hard core crime drama that was sweeping the nation at the time. Jean Harlow was the main draw in this drama about a police chief (Walter Huston) and his brother (Wallace Ford), who end up on different sides of the law. It's been fifteen years since Heritage has offered this great portrait card at auction, showing only such minor indications of handling as light edge wear, minor surface indentations, and a couple of very faint smudges in the borders. Very Fine+.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
