So hard to come by is original paper for this title that this lot marks the first time Heritage has ever had the pleasure of presenting a one sheet for Picture Snatcher. Released the same year as the exuberant musical Footlight Parade, Picture Snatcher shows the range of both its star, James Cagney, and its director, Lloyd Bacon, as it weaves the criminal tale of Danny Kean (Cagney) as he tries to achieve his dream of becoming a newspaper reporter. This artwork for this poster is phenomenal, highlighting Cagney both behind and in front of the camera. Airbrushed borders have corrected edge and fold wear, pinholes, creases, slight fold separation, mostly minor tears and misfolds, and some chips, which have also been further addressed with replacement. Additionally, touchup along the folds throughout has addressed fold wear, creases, misfolds, and a significant tear that reaches from the top border into Cagney's face within the camera lens, reaching approximately 23" in length.
