    Description

Marked Woman (Warner Brothers, 1937). Window Card (14" X 22").
A typical trend of Warner Brothers during the 1930s, the studio would frequently steal their plots from the newspaper headlines. This film took its inspiration from the tale of Charles "Lucky" Luciano, who has been convicted just a year earlier for running a prostitution ring. Bette Davis plays one of gangster Johnny Vanning's "hostesses" set to testify against him, with Humphrey Bogart acting in the place the steadfast District Attorney who convinces her to testify. Never sold before by Heritage, this window card has similar artwork to the style B half sheet and has had restoration to address stains the lower part of the poster slightly into the credits, and the imprint area has been airbrushed to cover writing. Still visible is a stain in the "E" of "Meet" and some faint staining in the background. Fine+.
