    Description

Marked Woman (Warner Bros., 1946). Very Fine on Linen. First Post-War Release Italian 2 - Fogli (39" X 54.5"). Alfredo Capitani Artwork.
Though Warner Brothers made sure to put in a disclaimer proclaiming the content of this crime drama to be purely fictitious, audiences well knew that they were about to view a thinly veiled retelling of the arrest and prosecution of mobster Lucky Luciano by the famous District Attorney Thomas A. Dewey, played by Humphrey Bogart. Bette Davis makes her grand return to Warner Brothers with a convincing performance of a call girl torn between the fear of her cruel boss and avenging her slain sister, a portrayal that boosted her career to new heights after a series of "lesser" films at the studio. Featuring an amazing illustration of Davis and Bogart from the talented brush of Alfredo Capitani. Prior to restoration, this spectacular poster showed pinholes in the borders, some border wear into the artwork, and small chips in the folds and borders. Touchup has been applied to the folds to address some fold separations, and there is a tax stamp in the upper image that is still visible.
