DescriptionMarked Woman (Warner Bros., 1937). Folded, Fine/Very Fine. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Bette Davis's hypnotic eyes are unmistakable in this one sheet for the 1937 film noir Marked Woman. Loosely based on Manhattan District Attorney Thomas E. Dewey's conviction of crime boss Lucky Luciano, Marked Woman stars Davis as Mary, a nightclub hostess who becomes crucial in District Attorney David Graham's (Humphrey Bogart) case against Johnny Vanning (Eduardo Ciannelli). This poster has only been offered at Heritage a few times before, making it a hard-to-find collectible for this classic film. The poster displays mild edge and fold wear, minor fold separations, small tears and chips, a few misfolds, and pinholes including a single pinhole in the image of Bette Davis's face. The poster also has some subtle toning along with unobtrusive smudges and stains, and there is an extra horizontal fold in Davis's credit near the top border. There area also a few strips of paper and cellophane tape on the verso.
Estimate: $2,500 - $5,000.
