DescriptionM (Nero-Film AG, 1931). Very Fine. German Lobby Card (9" X 12").
Based very loosely on the story of the Dusseldorf Ripper, this film would make Peter Lorre a major star. His impressive performance of the mentally disturbed child killer would shock audiences speechless. This incredible card depicts the film's final moments as the killer is put on trial by other criminals of the German underworld. Starring Peter Lorre, Ellen Widmann, Inge Landgut, Otto Wernicke. Directed by Fritz Lang and written by Lang's wife, Thea von Harbou, this incredible thriller set the stage for future psychological films and helped usher in a new cinematic genre, Film Noir. Any original country of origin material for this pivotal film is almost impossible to find and makes this German lobby card a unique opportunity to acquire something on the title. The card has only minor creasing in the upper corners and lower right corner bump. There is a German embossed stamp in the upper right corner.
Estimate: $3,000 - $6,000.
