Crazy to Marry (Paramount, 1921). Swedish One Sheet (23.25" X 34.25") Eric Rohman Artwork. From the Albertina Collection.
Released just nine days before the scandal that ruined his career, this Fatty Arbuckle comedy was the last time he would be seen on screen for a full year. He plays a doctor who is able to rehabilitate criminals surgically. A review of the time describes one of his sight gags--Fatty jumps into a fountain to rescue a drowning woman, but the splash he makes forces all the water out. With his reputation smeared, Arbuckle would only appear in two more features and a few shorts. This Swedish poster has pinholes in the right border, edge chips in the left and bottom borders, and some surface paper loss. These issues have been addressed by professional restoration. Very nice artwork by Eric Rohman. From the Albertina Collection, an Austrian museum noted for its preservation of rare European posters from the Silent Era on forward. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
