World War I Propaganda (American Red Cross, ca. 1918). Fine/Very Good+ on Linen. Propaganda Poster (30" X 40") "I Summon You to Comradeship in the Red Cross," Harrison Fisher Artwork.
This patriotic Red Cross poster, featuring evocative artwork by Harrison Fisher, portrays a woman draped in the American flag answering President Woodrow Wilson's call to "comradeship in the Red Cross." Backed to linen, tape was removed from the verso, and a 5" strip of the upper right border and 9" segment of the lower left edge were replaced. There was touchup to a 10" tear at left an a 10" tear at bottom. Thanks to these efforts, this 100+ year old poster remains presentable.
