World War I Propaganda (U.S. Navy, ca. 1917). Very Good+ on Linen. Recruitment Poster (40.5" X 53.5") "Your Country Needs You Now," Josef Pierre Nuyttens Artwork.
Presented here is a classic American World War I-era recruitment poster portraying a resolute U.S. Navy sailor armed with a rifle striding above a fleet of warships, emblazoned with the bold call to action "Your Country Needs You Now." A restored poster that may be slightly brittle due to age, showing edge and fold wear, pinholes, creases and handling wear, smudges, tears, some chips, light stains and significant color fading. Although backed on linen, no additional restoration has been applied. Additionally, the linen has been trimmed to the borders and there is staining on the linen verso. Grades on all restored items are pre-restoration grades.
