Offered here is a powerful World War II propaganda poster created by artist Robert Sloan in 1943 to promote the purchase of U.S. war bonds. The striking image depicts a wounded U.S. Army lieutenant with a bandaged head staring directly at the viewer against a bleak battlefield, accompanied by the challenging question, "Doing all you can, brother?" Designed to confront and motivate the home front, Sloan's grim illustration underscores the moral duty of civilians to financially support the troops through war bond purchases.
