Description

World War I Propaganda (Ketterlinus, 1919). Fine+ on Linen. Victory Liberty Loan Poster (Measure) "And They Thought We Couldn't Fight," Vic Forsythe Artwork.
To help the nation recover from the financial burden of war, this post-war Victory Loan poster by Vic Forsythe features an inspiring image designed to ignite civilian patriotism. Forsythe, known for his powerful illustrations, later transitioned into a successful career in comics, where he became well known for creating the popular comic strip Joe Jinks. A restored poster with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. Light touchup has addressed fold wear, creases, corner wear, and tears of varying lengths, the longest of which is along the bottom border and reaches approximately 8.5" in length through the "Y" of "Victory." Some of this, including pinpoint stains and slight crunching to the right linen border, remain visible. Grades on all restored items are pre-restoration grades.
