This scarce U.S. Marines poster depicts a seated Marine with his rifle in his hand and battleships in the background. Clarence F. Underwood was a renowned American illustrator whose work graced the covers of popular magazines such as The Saturday Evening Post and Ladies' Home Journal, earning him widespread recognition during the early 20th century. A restored poster with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. Somewhat heavy airbrushing and touchup, as well as some replacement, has addressed edge, corner, and fold wear, pinholes, creases, fold and crossfold separation, a few misfolds, small to significant tears, and some chips. Moderate darkening remains. Grades on all restored items are pre-restoration grades.
