Description
Whoops, I'm an Indian! (Columbia, 1936). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").Heritage has never before encountered an example of this exceptionally rare early Three Stooges one sheet, making its appearance at auction a truly remarkable event. In fact, it stands as the second oldest poster for a Stooges two-reeler we've ever had the privilege to offer. Hailing from the golden era of Columbia shorts, this frontier farce follows Moe, Larry, and Curly as they flee a crooked poker game and take refuge in the wilderness, where chaos inevitably ensues. The antics escalate when Curly, in a hilariously absurd twist, disguises himself as a Native American woman, unleashing a torrent of slapstick gags, mistaken identities, and signature Stooge mayhem that defined the trio's enduring appeal. Backed to linen, the poster received touchup to a tear running from the top edge into the billing, fold wear, fold junction paper loss, edge chips, and smaller tears. The borders and parts of the red background and titles have been airbrushed. There is writing on the verso that does not bleed through. This excessively rare one sheet, one of the trio's best, presents well. From the Larry K. Springer Collection.
