    Description

    Theodora Goes Wild (Columbia, 1936). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style B.
In his book, Romantic Comedy in Hollywood, James Harvey calls Theodora Goes Wild "the precursor and paradigm of almost every important romantic comedy to follow it," and Sidney Buchman's script "one of the most brilliantly constructed in the screwball cycle." This was Dunne's first try at humor and she was bitterly opposed to it initially. The film changed her career direction. Over the next few years, Dunne would reach the height of her popularity with such comedy classics as The Awful Truth, Love Affair, and My Favorite Wife. This gorgeous poster displays a spectacular image of Dunne with costar Melvyn Douglas, and has had touchup to the folds, some paper loss in the lower right border, and to the word "Riotous" for writing bleedthrough. The borders have been airbrushed, giving this very rare poster an overall neat appearance. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
