    Description

The Wild Party (Paramount, 1929). Deluxe Lobby Card & Lobby Card (11" X 14") William Hanneman Artwork.
Collegians at an all-girls school love to party far more than study in this film which stars the ultimate party girl herself, Clara Bow. She's the most popular girl in school and has an attraction to a Professor (Fredric March) that doesn't seem to know she's alive. This was an early talkie and was directed by Dorothy Arzner, one of the few women trusted to direct in this era. Two lobby card sets were made for this film, and this lot features one from each. One set consisted of photos color-tinted from the film and one set featured beautiful paintings, including this fantastic portrait of Bow. The portrait card has some light creases and crimps, and touchup to some surface paper loss and to the title area. There are also some pinholes in the upper area above Bow's hair. The scene card has a pinhole in each corner, some wear to the borders, a minor border tear, and two punch holes in the right border that have paper tape on the verso. This title is one of Clara Bow's signature films. Fine/Very Fine.
