    Description

The Three Stooges in Playing the Ponies (Columbia, 1937). One Sheet (27" X 41").
In one of their most side-splittingly-hilarious shorts, the Three Stooges are conned into trading their restaurant for a broken down racehorse named Thunderbolt. Curly mistakenly feeds the horse some hot pepperinos, which really get it running - to water! After figuring out why their horse has gained such speed, they win the race. This extremely rare one sheet features classic photos of Moe, Larry, and Curly wearing jockey hats plus some great caricatures of them on race horses. Prior to restoration, there was missing paper at the top right corner extending into the "S" in Stooges. There were small tears in the bottom border, and several pinholes in the background. There has been touchup to the folds and the borders have had touchup. Posters of this rarity and vintage for classic Stooges shorts rarely turn up, so here is an excellent opportunity! Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
