Heritage has never before offered a poster in any format on this silent short comedy starring the physical comedian and former Keystone star Al St. John. In the film, St. John plays a naïve country bumpkin who wanders onto a bustling movie studio lot and accidentally causes chaos among the actors, crew, and sets. The short plays on early Hollywood's growing fascination with itself, offering audiences a humorous behind-the-scenes look at filmmaking gone wrong. St. John's athletic slapstick style and knack for inventive chaos make The Studio Rube a lively example of 1920s studio-set comedies that satirized the motion picture business while celebrating its energy and absurdity. Folded as issued, the poster exhibits some fold junction separation, fraying and wear to the bottom edge, and toning to the blank border. An incredible rarity, the poster presents well.
