Description

The Philadelphia Story (MGM, 1947). First Post-War Release Italian 4 - Foglio (55" X 78").
Cary Grant and James Stewart are looking a little frightened of getting involved with the bride-to-be Tracy Lord (Katharine Hepburn) in one of the best films of the 1940s. Nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Actress, and Director, Oscars went to James Stewart for Best Supporting Actor and for Best Screenplay. To this day, the picture is considered to be one of Hepburn's strongest roles and returned her fading career to Hollywood stardom. This large format Italian poster is from the film's first release in Italy after the end of WWII. Artist Ercole Brini (Breakfast at Tiffany's, Notorious, Blow-Up) created what is undoubtedly the best poster for this picture, a piece that has very few imperfections. A bit of edge wear and fold wear with tape on the verso and front can be noted, but the 4-foglio is otherwise unmarred and ready to be added to a top collection. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
