The Paleface (First National, 1922). Title Lobby Card (11" X 14").
One we've waited for! A full color, hand stenciled, title card, for one of Buster Keaton's best comedy shorts. Keaton crammed more terrific sight gags into this twenty minute short than a Saturday afternoon Warner Brothers cartoon festival. That's an antique Navajo rug Buster is draped in, complete with a symbol found in many cultures, but used by the Navajo to represent a "whirling log," a sacred symbol used in healing rituals. In just a few years when the Navajo learned the Nazis were using the symbol, they discontinued it completely. Only pinholes in the corners and borders, a small crease in the top left border, and a faint crease in the right bottom border. Don't miss this chance at a cornerstone Keaton piece. Fine/Very Fine.
