    Description

The Lavender Hill Mob (GFD, 1951). British Six Sheet (76.75" X 77") Ronald Searle Artwork.
Alec Guinness is superb in this classic Ealing comedy as a meek bank clerk who decides to rob his own place of employment. Stanley Holloway lends sterling support, and keep a sharp eye out for a brief appearance by Audrey Hepburn in one of her very first films. A first time offering for Heritage, this country-of-origin six sheet showcasing a portrait with photo-realistic art of Guinness and Holloway, and artwork featuring the printed signature of the famous British cartoonist, Ronald Searle, who snuck a couple of his infamous St. Trinian's Schoolgirls into the background. There is slight touchup to the folds and some partially addressed pinholes into the interior. Unaddressed and post-restoration issues include creases, bubbling, some slight linen warping, and minor staining. Fine+ on Linen.
