Description
The Knockout (Maco Comedies, R-1920s). Very Good/Fine on Linen. One Sheet (28" X 41.5"). Reissue Title: Counted Out.When it was originally released by Keystone in 1914, The Knockout was a Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle feature. Fast forward a few years and the film was repackaged as a Charlie Chaplin vehicle called Counted Out, despite the fact that the Tramp only appears in a bit role as a boxing referee for several minutes. This film is one of the rare instances where Chaplin's iconic Little Tramp takes a secondary role, not making an appearance until the second half. It also features Arbuckle's wife, Minta Durfee, alongside Edgar Kennedy, with Keystone studio head Mack Sennett making a brief cameo as a spectator. This extraordinarily rare poster features wonderful artwork of Arbuckle and Chaplin, and is sure to appeal to fans of classic comedy and pugilism in equal measure. There has been some paper loss along the edges, tears, touchup, and repairs along the folds, all of which were addressed by a beautiful restoration job. The resulting poster presents beautifully. From the Richard Davis Collection.
