    Description

    The First 100 Years (Pathé, 1924). Three Sheet (41" X 79.5").
Harry Langdon and Alice Day star in this playful silent comedy, produced by Mack Sennett. An actor, director, and producer, Sennett has been referred to as the innovator of slapstick comedy in film, and was known by many as the "King of Comedy." He was the founder of Keystone Studios, where the likes of Charles Chaplin, Roscoe Arbuckle, Harold Lloyd, Gloria Swanson, W.C. Fields, Bing Crosby, The Keystone Cops, and many more would build their careers. Sennett moved to Pathé in the mid-20s, where he produced several comedy shorts. This beautiful stone litho three sheet, featuring a charming image of Langdon and Day, is from Sennett's days with Pathé. Prior to restoration, the poster had crossfold separation with some fold chips in the upper section. The upper border has been airbrushed, and touchup has been applied to the folds. Very Fine- on Linen.
