    Description

    Taming of the Shrew (United Artists, 1929). Lobby Cards (6) (11" X 14").
    This early "talkie" marked the second time Mary Pickford would speak in a sound film and really the first for Douglas Fairbanks. They appeared together in this film for the first time (if Pickford's small uncredited role in The Gaucho is not counted). The Shakespeare story was well suited to their talents, and made money for the company with an audience anxious to see their favorite couple together. Each of the stars would make only three more films before retiring from the screen. These wonderful lobby cards show small spots in the credit box, and one card has a stain in the upper left border. Very Fine.
