    Description

Suzanna (Allied Producers and Distributors, 1923). Title Lobby Card and Lobby Cards (6) (11" X 14").
Chaplin's tramp...the Keystone Cops...the girl tied to the railroad tracks...a pie in the face. What do they have in common? They were all first seen in Mabel Normand comedies. Normand started her career as a model for Charles Dana Gibson, of Gibson Girl fame, but when the new medium of film became popular, she moved from New York to Hollywood and joined Mack Sennett with his Keystone Comedies. By 1914 she was writing and directing her own films and was the biggest star in Sennett's stable, working with Chaplin and later Fatty Arbuckle. Normand's career only lasted 17 years, but she made more than 200 films which pushed the boundaries of silent comedy. These lobby cards have toning on the borders, light edge wear with a few small tears, and some light dust shadows. Very Fine-.
