    Description

    Pitfalls of a Big City (Pathé, 1923). Three Sheet (41" X 80").
Ben Turpin, the silent cinema's scrawny, cross-eyed comic, began his career at Essanay Studios in Chicago as part-time utility comedian and part-time studio janitor. He later graduated to playing opposite Essanay's newest comedian Charlie Chaplin. From the late teens up until his retirement in the late twenties, Turpin was always at the top of his game with his spectacular physical comedy. Offered here is a gorgeous stone lithograph three sheet to a comedy he did for the famous Mack Sennett Studios. This vintage three sheet has had professional restoration correct fold wear with small chips and slight edge wear with minor tears. There are a few small, unaddressed chips in the top left edge of the lower panel. Very Fine- on Linen.
