    Description

    One A.M. (Mutual, 1916). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27.5" X 41").
Offered only once before over fifteen years ago, this stone litho poster gives viewers a great sneak peek at the gags about to unfold on screen from one of the greatest comedians to have ever lived. Charlie Chaplin needs no other players present for this expert exercise in hilarity, the exception being a very brief appearance from Albert Austin as the only other person in the film. The rest is all Charlie doing what he does best, with the inanimate furnishings of a house serving as enough of a nemesis for one drunken homeowner. Since the short does not a have an actual cast, this is one of only two films from 1915 to 1923 that does not contain Chaplin's long time costar and leading lady, Edna Purviance. A hilarious image in and of itself, this one sheet has received restoration to address slight fold wear and separation, pinholes, a few tears, and chips in the borders and folds. Still visible is some toning, faint stains, a few creases, as well as a minor chip in the right border. Overall, the poster presents very well and should be considered a desirable acquisition by any collector.
