A rare and magnificent piece of Italian poster artistry, this lovely Heritage first is so scarce that we know of no other instance of the poster being offered at auction! Carole Lombard and William Powell star in director Gregory La Cava's fun loving film that has always rated at the top of everyone's list. Powell stars as a hobo named Godfrey who is hired by spoiled rich girl Lombard as a prank to annoy her family. Her sister does all she can to prove Godfrey a fraud, but to no avail. In the meantime, Lombard's character realizes she is falling in love with Godfrey. Imagine everyone's surprise when they discover who Godfrey really is! Backed on linen with professional restoration, this stone litho poster had edge and fold wear, fold separations, pinholes, some tears, and slight chipping. The borders, background, and the white portions of Powell's tuxedo have been airbrushed.
