Love Before Breakfast (Universal, 1936). Folded, Fine/Very Fine. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Beloved for her roles in numerous screwball comedies, Carole Lombard grabs the attention of onlookers with her black eye in this wonderful stone litho poster for Love Before Breakfast. Based on Faith Baldwin's short story "Spinster Dinner" first published in Cosmopolitan magazine in July 1934, the comedy features Lombard as Kay Colby, a woman in the middle of a love triangle also including her fiancé Bill (Cesar Romero) and wealthy playboy Scott (Preston Foster). Carole Lombard shines in the film, and even though her life was tragically cut short just a few years later in a plane crash, her legacy lives on through her performances and in beautiful posters such as this. The poster displays slight edge and fold wear, small tears and fold separations, pinholes, and creases. The poster has light toning and moderate smudges, and there are strips of paper tape on the verso bracing some of the folds. This is a magnificent poster from Hollywood's Golden Age and a fantastic addition to any collection!
