    Description

In Person (RKO, 1935). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27.5" X 41"). From the Mike Kaplan Collection.
Never before offered by Heritage, this fabulous one sheet is the only known copy to exist. Adapted from a novel of the same name by Samuel Hopkins Adams, known for his short story "Night Bus" which became the 1934 It Happened One Night, this vehicle stars Ginger Rogers, receiving top billing, and George Brent has the love interest. Many critics credit this film for boosting Rogers to star status in her own right, although she was already beloved by movie-goers for her pictures with Fred Astaire, including Top Hat which was released only a couple of months before In Person. Arguably the best image of Ginger Rogers on any one sheet, the actress is absolutely radiant in this illustration. This poster has had professional restoration applied to fold wear and separation, pinholes, and small tears. Also addressed were some chips in the borders and the image, including a small chip at the upper crossfold in Ginger Rogers' face. The borders have been airbrushed, and there are some faint stains still visible. A gorgeous display piece, this one sheet presents a rare opportunity for fans of Rogers.
