Description
Dry Martini (Fox, 1928). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (28" X 41").Dry Martini is a synchronized sound film comedy produced and distributed by Fox Film Corporation, directed by Harry d'Abbadie d'Arrast, and starring Mary Astor and Matt Moore. Adapted from John Thomas's 1926 novel Dry Martini: A Gentleman Turns to Love, it was released with a synchronized musical score and sound effects using the Movietone sound-on-film process, with additional music contributions from Samuel L. Rothafel. The story follows a wealthy young woman (Astor) who returns home from Paris with a modern, carefree attitude, shocking her more traditional father as she navigates love and rebellion in high society. Though now lost, this beautiful Art Deco one sheet remains a marvelous testament to its existence. A first time offer from Heritage, restoration has addressed fold wear with extra creases and tears. From the Neva Schermerhorn Collection.
