    Description

    Casablanca (Warner Brothers, 1946). Fine/Very Fine. First Post-War Release Italian Photobusta (19" X 13.5").
Drama, danger, romance. Michael Curtiz's landmark film brought all of these winning elements to the screen with a masterful quality impossible to imitate, though many have tried. Nominated for a total of eight Academy Awards and winner of three, Casablanca's perfect storm of talented writing paired with keen direction and all-star cast culminated into a film more than worthy of its outstanding picture status. Presented for the first time at Heritage, the original release photobusta pictures a tense confrontation between Paul Henreid as Victor Lazlo and Ingrid Bergman as Ilsa Lund against Conrad Veidt, playing the sophisticated and sinister Major Heinrich Strasser. A vibrant example of the format, signs of usage found in this photobusta include mild edge wear, some creasing and surface scuffing, pinholes, and moderate tears. There are a couple of minor corner chips, and the photobusta has shallow scratches in Paul Henreid's image. The verso has a few strips of cellophane and archival tape bracing tears. Fine/Very Fine.
