Brother Martin: Servant of Jesus (Sack Amusement Enterprises, 1942). Fine- on Paper. One Sheet (27" X 41").
This all-black cast film from Sack Amusement was about Brother Martin Porres Velázquez, a member of the Dominican Order who was beatified in 1837 and elevated to sainthood in 1962. He was known as the patron saint of mixed-race peoples and all those seeking racial harmony. Spencer Williams, who directed almost all of the Sack films, directed this movie as a man who tells his niece about the life of Brother Martin. Signs of use include slight edge and fold wear, light creases, and small tears. There are a couple of small chips in the borders, one of which has a splice, extra vertical folds, as well as staining towards the bottom. The poster also shows some color fading and is starting to lift from the paper backing in the top right corner. Fine- on Paper.

    Estimate: $400 - $800.
