Description
Brighton Rock (Associated British Picture Corporation, 1947). British One Sheet (27" X 40"). In 1999, when the British Film Institute voted for the 100 greatest British movies ever made, "Brighton Rock" made the list at number 15. The 24-year-old Richard Attenborough stars as Pinkie Brown, a vicious gang leader who kills a man during a racetrack robbery and then promises a waitress he'll marry her if she supplies him with an alibi. She agrees, and when Pinky gets off the hook he begins a methodical campaign to drive his new wife to suicide. "Brighton Rock" is noted for its stark detail and dark demeanor that ushered in a new realism to British crime cinema. There is slight border imperfection including small tears and nicks, and a touch of wear at the crossfolds. The poster has been professionally restored, rendering these defects hard to detect. Very Fine on Linen.Heritage Auctions provides as much information as possible but strongly encourages in-person inspection.
