    Description

The Bronze Venus (Toddy Pictures, R-1943). One Sheet (27" X 41"). Black Films. Original Title: The Duke is Tops.
Starring Lena Horne, Ralph Cooper, Lawrence Criner, Monte Hawley, Willie Covan, Neva Peoples, Vernon McCalla, Edward Thompson, Johnny Taylor, Cats and the Fiddle, Rubberneck Holmes, ad Basin Street Boys. Directed by William L. Nolte. A partially restored poster with an overall presentable appearance. It may have edge and fold wear, fold separations, creases, tears, pinholes, smudges, minor stains, misfolds, paper tape in the borders, and show signs of faint toning. The upper and lower borders have been trimmed off and the vertical borders have been slight trimmed. Restoration efforts have addressed some of these issues. In Post-restoration there are two heavy creases in the upper title credit, the poster is beginning to separate from the masa paper and linen in the lower right corner. The linen has been trimmed up to the border, and not into the poster. Grades on all restored items are pre-restoration grades. Actual dimensions for this poster are 26.75" X 40.75." Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Fine- on Linen.
