    Description

    Beggars of Life (Paramount, 1928). Fine/Very Fine. Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Louise Brooks' charisma and charm shone through her makeup and wardrobe as a hobo to make this one of the most riveting dramas of 1928. Wanted for the murder of her stepfather, a young girl (Brooks) disguises herself as a hobo in an attempt to elude the law and flee to Canada. Along the way she is helped by Richard Arlen and perennial tough-guy Wallace Beery. Filmed at the apex of her career, after the making of this movie, Brooks would abandon Hollywood for a short time, and travel to Germany to make Pandora's Box and Diary of a Lost Girl, the two films that would make her the largest international star in the world. This incredible scene card, boasting wonderfully bright colors, has slight edge wear, mild creases, pinholes in the corners, and faint staining. There is a small tear in the right border with a couple of pieces of archival tape on the verso, and the card was once folded horizontally. Fine/Very Fine.

    Estimate: $500 - $1,000.
