    Description

Bees in His Bonnet (Pathe, 1918). One Sheet (28" X 41").
Dubbed the "The King of Daredevil Comedy," Harold Lloyd is best remembered by many fans as the young man dangling desperately from a clock tower in the 1923 classic Safety Last. His artistic achievements of the silent era are often overshadowed by two of his contemporaries, Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, even though he made more films than the two of them combined. Athletic and spontaneous, Lloyd performed his comedic daredevil stunts with grace and ease. In 1917, Lloyd created his most unforgettable character, one that was to remain a signature throughout his career. With round glasses, a straw hat, and an unkempt suit, this new persona was both the fool and the fox, bumbling imperfection that could cunningly outsmart the bad guys. That's how he's depicted in this image, the only known one sheet from the now lost film. Lloyd extends his hat to co-star Bebe Daniels, a legendary entertainer in her own right. This charming, color rich stone litho poster only required minor restoration to address small tears along the vertical fold and fold wear. Very Fine on Linen.
