Ball of Fire (RKO, 1941). Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41"). From the Mike Kaplan Collection.
Howard Hawks and Billy Wilder - what a combination! Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck - what a combination! Put them all together and you have a sensationally great romantic comedy - Ball of Fire. Cooper plays a professor who wants to study slang. He runs into nightclub singer Stanwyck, and the fun begins. This film is one of the best of its genre, making this poster very very sought after. This one sheet could once be found at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Grand Lobby Gallery, and it has been professional restored to address fold wear and separations, pinholes, tears, and chips in the borders and folds, including at chip at the center crossfold. Some of these issues are not fully addressed, and the poster shows some unaddressed staining.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
